This study aims to test stellar evolution models for solar-type stars using precise measurements of mass and radius. We used new ground-based spectroscopic and photometric data, complemented by high-precision space-based observations, to derive orbital and physical parameters through least-squares fitting of a detached binary model. Atmospheric properties were estimated using Strömgren photometry and empirical calibrations. The components exhibit masses and radii with <1.2% uncertainty and show signs of photospheric activity, likely due to magnetic star spots. Classical models yield inconsistent results, while magnetic models improve agreement but require unrealistically large spot coverage. NY Hya emerges as a complex system warranting further studies to better constrain effective temperatures and metallicity.binaries: eclipsingbinaries: spectroscopicstars: fundamental parametersstars: individual: HD80747stars: solar-typeGENEVA-COPENHAGEN SURVEYLOW-MASS STARSSTELLAR EVOLUTION MODELSPRE-MAIN-SEQUENCEG-DWARFCHROMOSPHERIC-ACTIVITYELEMENTAL ABUNDANCEF-DWARFATMOSPHERIC PARAMETERSFUNDAMENTAL PROPERTIESAbsolute dimensions of solar-type eclipsing binariesother10.1051/0004-6361/202244066
