In Chile, there is a policy of integrating women into the mining production process, which makes the link between mining and the discipline of ergonomics even more necessary. The available studies on women in mining show a complex picture. They show that women are present in large numbers in occupations such as professional or technical occupations but to a lesser extent in the mining production process. On the other hand, the mining industry's need to increase its workforce to reach productive levels is a very relevant and constant issue in the industry. However, it opens up workspaces for women in an unequal position to access these work contexts and can increase their in-come by learning from this non-traditional subject for the female gender. But one wonders: What are the working conditions in the mining industry, and what are the most frequent risks to which they are exposed? Has ergonomics provided answers to the transformation needs of the mining industry? Are there different conditions in the mining industry worldwide and between men and women? These reviews aimed to analyze the existing literature in the mining sector to identify potential issues facing women regarding physical health, psychological well-being, and other occupational impacts and to address these gaps and challenges.WomenMiningErgonomicsGender and workOccupational healthWomen's Inclusion in Mining Work: The Dialectic Between Reality and PolicyArticulohttps://doi.org/10.1007/978-981-96-8908-8_35
