Abstract
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) employing bioactive materials have emerged as a pivotal solution for sustainable energy generation. This study investigates conkerberry (CB) extract as a natural dye, evaluating two DSSCs fabricated with KI (CB1) and LiI (CB2) electrolytes. CB2 achieved superior photovoltaic performance with 2.24% efficiency, higher Jsc, Voc, and stability compared to CB1. Morphological, optical, and electrochemical analyses confirmed enhanced light absorption, improved electron transport, and reduced recombination in CB2. This positions CB2 as a promising candidate for future DSSC applications based on natural and sustainable components.
