Abstract
The metaverse concept has become much more relevant in recent years. The three pillars of industrial training, safety, and social interaction are the framework around which this article organises evaluates research into extended reality and metaverse technologies. It illustrates how diverse approaches may be used across various applications by highlighting its potential to enhance knowledge acquisition, work protection and well-being, and social engagement in industrial settings. To fully realise the potential of metaverse technologies, further study is necessary to address identified problems, including privacy concerns and the need for adapted policies to guarantee successful acceptance and implementation.
