Abstract
The world's population has been aging for several decades. This trend is expected to continue until 2050. In Chile, the population has been aging steadily over the past 100 years, and the 60+ age group is expected to double by 2050. Despite the barriers that prevent older adults from using technology, an increasing number of them are using it in their daily lives. However, to the best of our knowledge, no recent literature review compiles the technological devices, categories, and software applications/systems currently used by older adults. Therefore, through a systematic mapping study, this research seeks an overview of such devices, categories, and applications that older adults use. The search was conducted in Scopus and Web of Science, finding 11 primary studies. We identified that the device most used by older adults is the smartphone, and the three most used categories are communication/messaging, image/video, and social networks. © 2024 Memorias de la Conferencia Iberoamericana de Complejidad, Informatica y Cibernetica, CICIC.
