Abstract
Paints protect the surface of any objects, and sometimes they may be used for decoration. Efficient paints are highly in demand for various applications in the products used in industrial, common utilization, and biomedical devices to show an anticorrosive characteristic. Also, the paint should show nontoxic and environmentally friendly features to utilize in all applications. Incorporating nanomaterial into conventional paint materials showed a significant improvement in the paint characteristics such as biocompatibility, mechanical strength, thermal stability, corrosion protection, long-term stability, and antibacterial behavior. Depending on the application of paint, the nanomaterial could be selected for incorporation into conventional paint materials. This chapter discusses the possibility of utilizing various nanomaterials as additives and major bases for developing paint with multifunctional characteristics. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
