Abstract
Currently, the rate of aging in Chile is growing steadily, and it is projected that by 2050, the elderly population will make up approximately one-third of the country's population. The use of information and communication technologies (ICT) by older adults can be beneficial, helping them, for example, to strengthen social relationships. The present systematic literature mapping study aims to consolidate an overview of the current research on using ICTs among older adults in Chile. For this, we searched the Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO databases between 2019 and 2024. As a result of the search, we found 15 primary studies. Overall, we identified that most of the research focuses on the adoption of technologies by older adults, which are mainly related to social networks. In addition, we identified a need for more research in several regions of Chile. Only five regions of the country have developed research on this topic. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
